Brushing and Flossing Your Child’s Teeth

We’d like to offer a few tips for brushing your child’s teeth.  First, begin brushing your child’s teeth/mouth at least as soon as the first tooth erupts.  You’ll want to use water or a fluoride free toothpaste until the child is 2 years of age.  Children over two years should use a pea-sized amount of paste and be supervised as you don’t want your child to swallow any toothpaste.  Teeth that touch should be flossed daily in order to prevent cavities from forming in between their teeth.   Children can be very ambitious with respect to brushing on their own, however, sufficient skill level is developed around 7 years of age.
